Self-Empowerment for Victims of Domestic Violence

The Self-Empowerment Program is  designed to restore self-confidence in women through a three-system approach and involves, group counseling, self-defense and fitness and nutrition classes.

Economic Empowerment for Victims of Domestic Violence

The Economic Empowerment Program's focus is to help women overcome poverty through career counseling, financial workshops and mentor-peering.

Inspire Summer Camp for Children of DV Victims

Oftentimes children of victims experience the same emotional trauma as their mothers.  The Inspire Summer Camp is designed for children to receive counseling through activities that develop their 

social skills.

Some Facts

Nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner.

Domestic violence affects 1 in 3 women.


Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women - more than car accidents, muggings and rapes combined.

I Am Strong

Women who have experienced domestic violence desire more for themselves and don't want to be thought of as a statistic, or to be stereotyped.  Domestic violence affects everyone of all economic and educational backgrounds, and all nationalities and genders. Of the population that experience family violence, 70 percent are women.

Communication is Key

The workshop is designed to share information on helpful tools and practices to improve the services we provide to domestic violence victims.  Attendees will also be given the opportunity to share their expertise, as the exchange of information is welcomed. Annual Fundraiser

Your Help is Needed

The fundraiser is being organized to help fund our projects.  This event is set for September 2018.  Further details are to be announced.  Contact us if you desire to contribute of your time, expertise and/or resources.

Information Session

The information sessions are for administrators of domestic violence shelters and organizations. Administrators can learn more about Strong Women Association and how our services can benefit them and their clients. See the Calendar of Events for scheduling.

Volunteer Recruitment

Volunteer recruitment is ongoing.  We are always in need of field administrators for events and flyer distribution.
